Meet Our Team!
James Massaro, DVM & Janet Lipman, DVM
Dr. James Massaro and Dr. Janet Lipman together own the Village Veterinary Hospital and have each practiced small animal medicine and surgery for over 35 years. They very much enjoy living and practicing in the wonderful community of Medford, NJ, where they have raised their two sons. They both grew up in New York but attended different colleges; Dr. Massaro graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey and Dr. Lipman graduated from Tufts University in Massachusetts. They met as classmates at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduated in 1986, and married each other that same year. As husband and wife, colleagues, and partners in practice, they share their passion for veterinary medicine. They are dedicated to providing the very best care to the pets that are entrusted to them and the personal attention that the families of their patients deserve. Outside of the office they enjoy hiking, reading, traveling and spending time with their sons, two dogs and three 'grand-kitties'.
Jennifer Pehrman, VMD
Dr. Jennifer Pehrman was born and raised in southern New Jersey. She graduated from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 1988. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1993. She joined Village Veterinary Hospital in 1999 and is especially interested in internal medicine, specifically endocrinology and dermatology. She enjoys developing lasting relationships with her clients and patients, and would like to be thought of as the "other family doctor". Dr. Pehrman is blessed by her three children and her husband and resides in Laurel Springs with the rest of her furred, finned, and scaled family. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, and serving in various church ministries.
Andrew Massaro, DVM
Dr. Andrew Massaro is Dr. Lipman's and Dr. James Massaro's eldest son, and he feels very fortunate to be living in Medford and serving his hometown community. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond with a BS in Biology in 2011 and he received his DVM degree from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. He then completed a rigorous 1 year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Dr. Andrew Massaro's special interests include ultrasound, dentistry, emergency medicine, and soft tissue surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Massaro enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his wife (who is also a vet), their two sons Benjamin and Dylan, and their three cats Rudy, Trout, and Seabass.
Michelle Ryan, DVM
Dr. Michelle Ryan was born and raised in southern New Jersey. She graduated from Kean University in 2010 with a bachelors in science, technology, and mathematics. A year later, she graduated with a masters in curriculum and instruction and began teaching high school mathematics. After 8 years of teaching she decided to return to school and pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2023. Dr. Ryan's special interests include ultrasound, nutrition, and dermatology. Given her background, she is also passionate about client education. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ryan enjoys kayaking, hiking, gardening, and cuddling on the couch with her fur-child Kalu.
Our Technicians: Jenn, Sam, Alyssa, Vikki, and Natasha
Our veterinary technicians keep our hospital running smoothly and do everything from helping in office hours to taking samples and running laboratory tests, dispensing medications, helping in surgery, and caring for our hospitalized patients. And that's just a few of their responsibilities! They all do their jobs with respect and compassion for both our patients and their owners. We love our techs!
Our Receptionists: Jeanne, Tammy, Heather, and Rebecca
Together our receptionists keep our front desk running smoothly and are happy to greet both clients and pets when they arrive at Village Vet! They also handle telephone questions and appointment and prescription requests. They are an integral part of our hospital flow and a great representation of what VVH is all about!
