Meet Our Team!
James Massaro, DVM & Janet Lipman, DVM
Dr. James Massaro and Dr. Janet Lipman together own the Village Veterinary Hospital and have each practiced small animal medicine and surgery for over 30 years. They very much enjoy living and practicing in the wonderful community of Medford, NJ, where they have raised their two sons. They both grew up in New York but attended different colleges; Dr. Massaro graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey and Dr. Lipman graduated from Tufts University in Massachusetts. They met as classmates at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduated in 1986, and married each other that same year. As husband and wife, colleagues, and partners in practice, they share their passion for veterinary medicine. They are dedicated to providing the very best care to the pets that are entrusted to them and the personal attention that the families of their patients deserve. Outside of the office they enjoy hiking, reading, traveling and spending time with their sons, two dogs and three 'grand-kitties'.
Jennifer Pehrman, VMD
Dr. Jennifer Pehrman was born and raised in southern New Jersey. She graduated from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 1988. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1993. She joined Village Veterinary Hospital in 1999 and is especially interested in internal medicine, specifically endocrinology and dermatology. She enjoys developing lasting relationships with her clients and patients, and would like to be thought of as the "other family doctor". Dr. Pehrman is blessed by her three children and her husband and resides in Laurel Springs with the rest of her furred, finned, and scaled family. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, and serving in various church ministries.
Andrew Massaro, DVM
Dr. Andrew Massaro is Dr. Lipman's and Dr. James Massaro's eldest son, and he is very excited to return to his hometown of Medford, NJ to join the family practice. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond with a BS in Biology and he received his DVM degree from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. He then completed a rigorous 1 year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Dr. Andrew Massaro's special interests include ultrasound, dentistry, emergency medicine, and surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Massaro enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his wife (who is also a vet!) and their three cats, Rudy, Trout, and Seabass.
Mark Massaro, DVM
Dr. Mark Massaro ("Dr. Mark" for short) is the younger of the two sons of Dr. Janet Lipman and Dr. James Massaro and he is thrilled to be finally joining the rest of the family at VVH! He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Richmond and received his DVM degree from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. He then completed a 1 year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at CARES (Center for Animal Referral and Emergency Services) in Bucks County, PA. Dr. Mark's veterinary interests include preventative care, behavior, internal medicine, and general surgery. He especially enjoys helping foster the human-animal bond between pet owners and their furry family members. In his spare time he enjoys all kinds of athletics, especially tennis and beach volleyball, and spending time with his family and friends, including his 2 cats Krepki and Nova.
Our Receptionists: Jeanne, Tammy, & Natasha
Together our receptionists keep our front desk running smoothly and are happy to greet both clients and pets when they arrive at Village Vet! They also handle telephone questions and appointment and prescription requests. They are an integral part of our hospital flow and a great representation of what VVH is all about!
Our Technicians: Michelle, Sam, Brittani, & Olivia
Our veterinary technicians keep our hospital running smoothly and do everything from helping in office hours to taking samples and running laboratory tests, dispensing medications, helping in surgery, and caring for our hospitalized patients. And that's just a few of their responsibilities! They all do their jobs with respect and compassion for both our patients and their owners. We love our techs!
Our Assistants: Abbey, Kenny, Vicki, & Alyssa
Our veterinary assistants are invaluable in helping our technicians and veterinarians perform their jobs to the best of their abilities! They hold animals for exams, vaccines, blood draws, X-rays, nail trims, and more, and help fill prescriptions, perform in-house labwork, and keep our hospital clean and tidy! We couldn't do what we do without them!
